I am having an upsetting realization
It has reached summer time, or the end of spring where everyone is wearing revealing clothing, I really don’t understand how some girls go out wearing what they wear. I personally feel uncomfortable in shorts simply because I am aware that my thighs are humongous, in fact when I go see my guy friends I always change into something more covered up.
What triggered this was when I was hanging out with my mom in her room and staring at my bare thighs and arms. I disgust myself, I am repulsively gross!
I am sick of this feeling, restrictions. I restrict myself so much! I feel like every single time that I go out I have to worry about what I wear and I compare myself to other girls and even guys! Make sure I choose the right things to eat and avoid the bad things! Yes, it’s getting out of hand!
If a girl weights less then me I feel like I have lost in some way…because I have tried so hard to become exactly like them, thin. That’s all I want. Really what else can I do? I eat healthy…I work out & I even stop drinking alcohol and coffee and quit smoking in general. (although to be honest I never was a heavy smoker to begin with!)
Guys that I have a tenancy to like are usually a lot thinner or fitter making it difficult for me to even let myself like the person. Another form of restriction to be honest. This causes me so many issues because of my insecurity, what if I did date the person…would they notice that my arms are fatter than theirs? I can’t even think about getting physical with the person! Staring at the fat on my stomach or if they even touched my fat areas or made a comment, which has happened before just completely kills my self-esteem completely.
There are two ways this works out, I consider them to be out of my league because I am too fat for them or I get intoxicated (drunk, high, both) and check the insecurities at the door so that I can have some fun. The only way that I can even get to a club in a skirt or a tank top is if I have a few drinks to forget that I am wearing it!
This has got to be the most irresponsible, stupid and slutty way to actually meet, enjoy and perhaps be respected by others especially guys in particular.
What am I doing? I am tainting my reputation.
What really frustrates me to tears is the fact that I put so much effort and time into watching what I eat, making it a lifestyle change not a diet and also working out! I think I have read more books on weight loss than a nutritionist themselves and I research stuff on websites all the time. I thought tumblr would be a great way to get help and support from girls.
The idea of going anorexic, bulimic or even both is sometimes fascinating and intrigues me. It is the ultimate strength of human will power to NOT eat. I have tried to do the anorexic bit but it just spirals me down to a bitchy, cranky person and then by the time night comes around I binge everything I can get my hands on. I guess I don’t have the will power for a eating disorder, not that I was aiming to have one but this struggle is pissing me off. I do have to admit, I haven’t tried to do this since high school or even elementary school! I know that it is a method I can’t follow through with, nor is it healthy and that I would want to deal with it!
Sometimes I ignore the fact that I want to be fit, skinny and beautiful. Constantly thinking about it depresses me, I can’t do it. I believe that food actually is comforting to me, when I worry about myself appearance so much to the point that I need something to make myself feel better. It doesn’t help that my family especially my mother and brother continue to want to eat pizza, pasta and everything that I rather not have. It’s just crazy.
I am not F - A - T but I am sure as hell not thin or a small. When describing me there is no way that anyone would say “that really thin/small/petit/little/cute girl”. I have been called “husky”, “medium build”, “big boned” and “athletic”, this was one of the most horrid words used to describe my physical appearance. I am not even a tall girl. I hate when people say “but you have boobs”, realize that it’s just fat. There is nothing else to it. People have tried to comfort me and tell me that my curves are what guys love. ”I wish that I had curves like you” - meaning FAT. That’s the nice way of saying chubby or not fit.
It’s not fair when I see girls go out and enjoy themselves, eat what they want, drink what they want, wear what they want and they look fabulous. When will it be me? When will it be my turn? I just want to be beautiful and I want to be able to have the choice of the guy that I want. Is that too shallow? Is that wrong? Yes changing yourself for a guy may not be the best idea but I can’t see what else is the issue? I think I am nice…but I guess I am just another average soul. I am so boring.
I am sick of feeling sorry for myself, I am done with the excuses. I want to change - I need the help! I want to be fit, healthy and clean!
Plus I am quite sure that these are everyone’s goals, to be the best that they can be, is it not?
Sorry to bore you, if you got this far, thanks for reading and caring. Message me in my ask if you can help me out!

Fast weight loss tips: #1. Eat specific foods. A number of food additives, like spices, can help to speed up your metabolism by creating a thermodynamic burn that has been shown to last a few hours after you eat.
Fast weight loss tips: #2. Time your meals. The majority of your calories should be earlier in the day. Your meals should contain less total calories as the day goes on. Try to eat little or preferably nothing at all after your evening meal. Don’t skip any meals. You should be eating 4 - 6 meals each day.
Fast weight loss tips: #3. Make sure you eat enough. One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to lose weight is they don’t eat enough.
If you don’t consume the proper amount of calories you will send your body into what is known as a survival mode. This happens when your body does not have enough calories, so it conserves energy to prepare for possible starvation.
On the opposite side of this, is if you eat too many calories the excess will be stored as fat. You need to exercise in order to burn more calories than you eat. Therefore, moderation is the key when it comes to calorie intake.
Fast weight loss tips: #4. Increase your daily activities. To prevent fat storage and to drop any excess that you might be carrying you must increase your daily activities.
This needs to include weight training and cardiovascular training. The more calories you burn, the faster you will lose weight. It’s that simple. An increase in lean muscle mass results in a dramatic increase in fat burning.
One more thing try to exercise first thing in the morning. Research has shown that you can dramatically increase your fat burning ability if you exercise after a fasted state. Meaning just after you wake up.
Fast weight loss tips: #5. Do weight lifting before doing any cardiovascular work. The only exception of course is to perform 5 - 10 minutes of cardio before your weight training in order to warm up your muscles.
This is important because you need the energy in your muscles for weight training. By the time your weight training session is complete you will have used up all of your preferred energy sources.
This means that you will actually be burning fat cells during your cardio session.
Realize this …
You probably have hit a plateau. Here’s some weight loss tip’s I have picked up over the years that might help you break it:
- Exercise 6 to 7 days a week.
- And try to break your workout into two different sessions, this gives your metabolism a jolt.
- Drink 10 to 12 cups of water a day. And try to drink ice cold water, it burns more calories.
- Take enough vitamins, especially ones that promote weight loss (such as 1800 mg. of Fish Oil, Vitamin B Complex, Co-enzyme Q-10, ect. Do your research).
- Drink green tea or take green tea pills ( it’s been shown to speed up your metabolism).
- For your metabolism’s sake, eat within 1 hour of waking up and don’t eat 3 hours before you go to bed.
- Try a vegan or vegetarian diet (it worked for me :D).
- Drink 12 oz. of warm lemon water (use the juice of 1/2 a lemon) with a little sea salt every morning. This will detoxify your body and make your skin look amazing.
- Or, if giving up meat just isn’t your thing, just count calories. Try to have around 1200 a day.
- Try to avoid white, bleached, or enriched flour.
- Stay away from high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils.
- Eat every 2 to 4 hours to keep your metabolism going.
- Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism up.
- Try to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. When your body is deprived of sleep your appiteite increases by 15%.
- Sugar and artificial sweeteners are the devil. If you have a sweet tooth, grab some fruit.
- Avoid all junk food, fast food, and fried food.
- Try only drinking water, tea, and black coffee. There are so many hidden calories in drinks.
- Eat whole grain foods and healthy fats (like olives, avacados, nuts, ect) and stay away from refined or “bad” carbs.
- Remember to read the labels. They hide so much junk in “healthy diet” foods now a days. My rule of thumb is, if I can’t pronounce it, I won’t put it in my body. Because you are what you eat.
- Set small goals (like 5 pounds) and when you reach your goal reward yourself with something (not food).
And just remember that you can do this. It’s not impossible. You just have to stick to it and the weight will just fall off. Good luck with losing weight. Hope I’ve helped.
